no doom iii in 2003
homelan has links to activisions's financial quarterly conference call and 2003 release calendar and it looks like we won't see doom III till 2004. it's penciled in for an early 2004 release at least but id Software has the final say on the actual release date. quake 4 has also been pushed into 2005. for the full story, check out homelan. Maybe they thought that unreal 2 was going to cut into sales, and postponed it a bit. You would think that the game was almost done by now…

And yet another opinion might be that they’re waiting so the Tech can catch up with their uber-game that all the fanboys are slobbering over.
