homelan has links to activisions's financial quarterly conference call and 2003 release calendar and it looks like we won't see doom III till 2004. it's penciled in for an early 2004 release at least but id Software has the final say on the actual release date. quake 4 has also been pushed into 2005. for the full story, check out homelan. 21 July 03 - 20:35midnight club 2 multiplayer demo

the multiplayer demo for Midnight Club 2 is now available for download. it's a street racing game brought to you by the guys at rockstar games that also make grand theft auto 3. the driving is not up to nascar/driver quality and driving around at 150 mph, you would think they would throw in some nice jumps for the big airtime but there aren't many places to get airborn. the game really shines in the multiplayer mode though and could make this one title to own. there's a checkpoint mode and a capture the flag mode that are both hysterical to play with your buddies. if there was a linux version, I'd boot a server up on deathcon but you'll have to use the in-game browser to find a server for now. this is definitely one to play at the next deathcon lan though. nopal, subotai and i played similar modes on nopal's playstation2 with quads but we were limited to 2 players and split-screen. now we can lan or play online with up to 8 racers. you can also choose between 2 different cars and a motorcycle. if you're in the mood for a fun racer, check out the demo today!

01 July 03 - 08:20Tron 2.0 Demo Out

Woot! There's a multiplayer demo of Tron 2.0 available for download over on 3D Gamers. There's a mirror over at Worthplaying too. Multiplayer lightcycles! Woot! I have to say that in some respects this was one of the most visually stunning games I saw at E3 this year. Well worth checking out!

UPDATE - Ok, my bad, apparently this demo is not playing well with others and therefore I'm going to have to give it a "time-out". Hopefully after the developers spend some time in their rooms thinking about what they've done they'll try to make amends. Sorry about that!
